I can get a double dash on Mario Kart Double Dash, but I can't get a dash on Mario Kart DS. For some reason I just never press it at the right time or something. My level seems to be 150, but never getting a dash slows me down. Any tips/pointers?

Who's finished the game? Like, gotten a trophy in all Grand Prix courses. I have, and I haven't played the game in a long time. I mean, it's still fun, but I just don't play DS much anymore. =P
